Prof. Livny will provide an overview of the highly successful open source Condor high throughput computing platform and present some of the newest features.
Condor is used by universities, research institutes, and businesses around the world to integrate heterogeneous compute clusters and desktop computers into a high performance batch system with a uniform interface and rich access control and usage policies. Condor supports Windows, OS X, Linux, Solaris, AIX, and other underlying operating systems and has now been integrated into Red Hat, and can be deployed onto Amazon EC2, allowing the seamless integration of on-demand cloud resources.
