Welcome to the DFCI Research Computing Request System

Q. Are you in the community of people served by DFCI Research Computing?

  1. We serve a large number of groups here but, basically, anyone from the research community. We provide disk storage space beyond what is available to your H: drive. We support remote protocols such as Appletalk, NFS, and SMB. We can host your lab's web site. We have a number of shared software licenses. Take a look at the DFCI Research Computing website to see what services we offer. It's at http://research4.dfci.harvard.edu.

Q. But what is the purpose of this system?

  1. If you have a broken Partners Standard PC or you are having trouble with a Partners service, just call the Helpdesk at 632-3399. But if you need a new service from us, such as a website, or some consultation, or any of the other items seen on the newticket page, then you've reached the right place.

Q. How do I submit a ticket and what happens when I do?

  1. To submit a ticket you have to register on this site. When you register, be sure to include an email address so you can be notified when your request is completed or so we can get in touch with you. Your request will either be assigned to one of our staff, or we will let you know if we can't do what you asked. Further, you can always check the status of your request by going to the report page to view your tickets.

By registering and going to the newticket page you can see the kinds of requests that can be made.
